“Our newest compilation focuses on lament from a female perspective, so every contributing artist is a woman. Inspiration came from our model of Mary and Martha at the tomb of Lazarus where they encounter Jesus in their sorrow, and He weeps with them. The hope with this project is that the listener will have a song to bring to Jesus in crisis. Lament is an act of faith that God can hear and will hear, and He alone can act. The Lord knows what He will do, and yet He takes the time to listen and weep with us.”

A note from Rachel WIlhelm:
I have noticed through the years that women are the first to put down their art for other pressing obligations, which makes it difficult for them to have access to songwriting, music production, and opportunities in the music realm. We at Liturgy Fellowship pooled together all our production and mixing engineers that had the space and time to volunteer to several tracks on this project. It was a balancing act of pairing just the right producer with just the right artist, all via email, text and Dropbox during a global pandemic. There were near misses, panicked and wind-in-the-sails phone calls, encouraging and constructive correspondences, artistic direction, and Dropbox uploads of triumph. I loved every second of it. My main takeaway? We need each other to produce beautiful things. Is this not the Body of Christ? I hope that you can soak in these songs produced by Godly women who know pain and want to help you process your pain because we are the Body. Praise be to Jesus, the Man of Sorrows, who knows us well. The glory shall be His!
