From the writers: "We found the tone of Psalm 108 tricky to capture and went through more than one version before moving forward with this one. Even though the beginning of the Psalm shows steadfast devotion and utter confidence in God, later verses seem to indicate that King David is singing these praises in a time of great need. He even goes so far as to say that he feels abandoned by God, that God has "rejected" his people. We were moved by the beauty and tenacity of David's prayer in the midst of trouble, and hoped to express his posture of worship and simple trust in our song."
lyrics
When the endless night is dark as death,
when I feel I've wasted every breath,
I refuse to think that You have left,
my God, my help.
All the universe is in Your hands,
kingdoms fall and rise at Your command,
I refuse to think You'd lose your grasp,
You hold me fast.
I believe You are with me.
I believe You are for me.
Lord, save me now with Your loving pow'r;
Only You can rescue me.
God, I know Your love and faithfulness
go beyond the highest star in hea'vn,
I refuse to think that you'd forget
Your promises.
Glory, glory to You, God, over all the earth, glory to You, God.
I will praise You till I wake the dawn, til my breath is gone.
Glory to You, God, be exalted above the heavens,
God of all creation, glory to You, God.
I will praise You till I wake the dawn, til my breath is gone.
Glory to You, God!

This is such a lovely collection of Christmas songs. I have joked before that there is a tension & nuance to the music that gives a sense of suspense - Christmas at Sleepy Hollow maybe! Joy, joy, joy… fisparksie
